Are Chesneys chimneypieces made from natural materials?

All of our chimneypieces are hand carved from real marble or real limestone. We do not use any lookalike or cast products of any description.

What is the lead-time for delivery?

Chesneys aim to hold stock of all reproduction fire surrounds at all times but many of the items in the range of fire baskets and register grates are made to order. Allowing for average lead times for the latter and rigorous quality control procedures on all products, delivery can generally be made within 4 – 6 weeks.

Is there a charge for delivery?

London deliveries are charged at £125.00 + VAT per pallet. Stove deliveries outside of London postcodes are priced on request. Deliveries elsewhere can be arranged using Chesneys recommended independent carriers. Unless specifically stated all deliveries are based on a kerbside service. Kerbside deliveries are carried out by one delivery operative in a tail-lift vehicle (where necessary) and are conducted on a ‘to the door/property’ basis only. Please contact our Sales staff for details of regional charges for specific items. Alternatively arrangements can be made by customers to use their own carriers or transport to collect from our central London warehouse in Battersea.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Chesneys products are warranted to be free from defect except for those variations in colour, shade, veining and grain which occur naturally in any limestone or marble. In the case of antique chimneypieces, subject to those repairs/restoration that have been necessary in the refurbishment of the chimneypiece.

What happens if the goods have been damaged in the course of delivery?

All goods should be checked and signed for upon delivery. Notification of any damage or defects must be made at this time and replacements will be supplied at the earliest opportunity. Where goods are being collected from our warehouses, these must be checked and signed for at the time of collection. Any notification of damage thereafter will not be accepted as evidence of damage at the time of collection.

Who should install the chimneypiece?

If for geographical or other reasons, Chesneys recommended installers are not to be used, Chesneys will be happy to give your builder or local fireplace installer technical advice and assistance where required.

Where can I view the products?

Chesneys have a showroom in Battersea, South London where products can be viewed. Chesneys also have selected independent stockists throughout the UK from whom the entire range of products can be purchased at Chesneys recommended retail prices.

What are the payment terms?

All goods are payable with the order, with the balance due on amendments to the order prior to confirmation of a date for delivery/collection or installation.For all antiques, discontinued lines, fire surrounds that have colour variances in the stone or heavier than usual fossilisation or veining but which are nonetheless manufactured to our usual high standards, fire surrounds that are ex display or have been used on photographic shoots or press events and which have sustained minor damage in the course of handling, must be paid in full at the point of ordering.
